What Kind Of Person Runs Over A Pedestrian And Leaves The Scene?

I have to admit that I was disgusted (but not surprised) to read on the WFTV website tonight about another automobile versus pedestrian accident  in Central resulting in a wrongful death.  Apparently, a man was trying to cross John Young Parkway near Sand Lake Road in Orlando a couple of nights ago, when he was unfortunately hit by a car.  As the pedestrian lay in the roadway, an unidentified S.U.V. came along and ran over his body -- but the driver of the S.U.V. never stopped.

As I have recently discussed, automobile versus pedestrian accidents are becoming all to commonplace in Central Florida.  However, what really gets my blood boiling is when I hear or read that a driver has fled the scene after one of these accidents.  Whenever I think about the experience of what it must be like to be hit by a car, or to hit somebody with my car, I ask myself, "How could that person just leave the pedestrian lying in the road, either dead or dying?"
