Orlando's WFTV has reported a tragic traffic accident that occurred overnight on the John Young Parkway between Orlando and Kissimee. Apparently, Pablo Tarazona, a Kissimmee resident, was operating his scooter southbound on JYP, near Whisper Lake Boulevard.
At that same time, Mercury Kane, 34, was operating his Chevrolet Camaro southbound on the same highway. Based upon the physical evidence, it is clear that Kane's Camaro rear-ended the scooter. Tarazona was killed as a result of the crash.
For whatever reason, Kane decided to flee the scene on foot. He was later arrested at his home. Apparently, the Florida Highway Patrol has collected a blood sample is attempting to determine whether alcohol or drugs played a role in this crash.
As an Orlando motorcyle accident attorney, I am hopeful for Mr. Tarazona's family that Kane carried plenty of bodily injury liability insurance coverage in order to respond to a wrongful death claim. If Kane was impaired at the time of the crash, he might also be liable for puntive damages.
