Channel 6 in Orlando recently reported about a bus accident in Osceola County that left at least six people injured. Apparently, a Central Florida Transit (Lynx) bus was rear-ended by a box truck on U.S. Highway 192 near 10 Street in St. Cloud.
There was no explanation for provided for why the crash occurred other than to say that it was a rear-end accident. In Florida, rear-ending drivers are presumed to be negligent, unless they offer evidence to the contrary to prove that they were not negligent. In my experience as an Orlando personal injury lawyer, I can tell you that it is very rare that there is good excuse for a rear-end accident.
The crash here was severe enough that five passengers on the bus reported injuries and were taken to the hospital. Additionally, the driver of the box truck reportedly suffered a broken foot.
I have previously explained that Lynx bus accidents put passengers in a tough situation concerning how they will need to pay their medical bills. Here medical bills will likely need to be paid by the company that owned the box truck.
